The semi-finalist teams in Region 4 High School Mock Trial competed on Monday, November 10, at the Brown County District Courtroom in Ainsworth.

In the west bracket semi-final, Stuart Red eliminated defending champion Ainsworth Blue by a unanimous decision.

In the east bracket semi-final, Atkinson West Holt Blue scored a unanimous ballot over O'Neill Public Blue.

Both losing teams were eliminated in the single elimination phase of the competition.

The final trial for the Region 4 championship will be held at the District Courtroom in O'Neill on Wednesday, November 19, at 1:00 p.m.  The trial is open to the public.  Retiring Court of Appeals Judge Edward E. Hannon will preside.  County Judge Alan Brodbeck and Valentine attorney James Quigley will be the performance judges.

The final trial will match west bracket winner Stuart Red against east bracket winner Atkinson West Holt Blue.  Both teams must come prepared to portray either plaintiff or defendant.  The side assignments will be determined by a coin flip immediately prior to the trial.  Following the trial, Judge Hannon will present to the traveling championship plaque to the winning team.  The winning team will represent Region 4 at the state competition in Omaha in December.
