The Stuart High School Red Team won the Region 4 High School Mock Trial championship on Wednesday, November 19.  The Stuart team defeated finalist Atkinson West Holt Blue in a single trial at the District Courtroom in O'Neill.  After the coin toss, the Atkinson team was designated as plaintiff and the Stuart team as defendant.  Retiring Court of Appeals Judge Edward E. Hannon served as presiding judge and County Judge Alan Brodbeck and Valentine attorney James Quigley functioned as performance judges.  All three judges scored the win to Stuart.

Travis Ludwig serves as teacher sponsor for the Stuart team and Kevin Young and Pat Madsen are teacher sponsors for the Atkinson team.  Attorney Janet Krotter-Chvala is the coach for both teams.

Following the trial, Judge Hannon presented the traveling championship plaque to the Stuart Red team.  The Stuart team will represent Region 4 at the state competition in Omaha in December.
